The Pool Construction Process

Layout & Excavation

Our pool excavation experts will dig out the entire pool area. The layout will be verified and shape boards will be set after calling 811 to mark any buried utility lines. Depending on your access, you can excavate with a variety of machines. Depending on the soil and weather conditions, this process will take a few days.

Rough Plumbing

Before the steel is installed, the rough plumbing is completed. This includes the main drains, skimmers, return lines, raised spas, water features, and cleaning systems, as well as the plumbing lines for the main drains, skimmers, return lines, raised spas, water features, and cleaning systems.

Structural Steel

Steel reinforcement (rebar) will be installed to give the pool shell strength and support. Your city inspector can conduct an inspection after it is completed, if necessary.

Shotcrete

Shotcrete is a combination of cement, sand, and water that is applied with a pressure hose to create a thick, hard layer of concrete on steel to form the pool’s shell. To help in the curing process, the shell must be washed down.

Tile, Coping & Stone

During this process, waterline tile, pool coping, spa spillways, raised walls, water sheers, and stonework are all built. Depending on the size and complexity of the task, this phase will take anything from a few days to a few weeks.
